Avoiding bottlenecks? Get solid state for os and Steam/Origin/Epic and, dare I say it…. may allah forgive me: Uplay. The amount of people with harddrive is ridiculous really.
I'd even recommend 2, one for multiplayer and one for singleplayer. Multi needs the fastest drive and single just big. You need to not load in fast for a potential advantage, need not be concerned about holding up loads for others, and with the amount of space a game these days takes up (looking at you Warzone, FF15, Last Of Us, and too many more) you can use the storage. A 2TB drive was a bit tight so I got another and divided them this way.
Also the fastest cpu you can fit, more cores more better. You got Discord and a browser in the background at the least, maybe Teams, some anti virus, Dolby Access or DTS Unbound, sound processing, recording software, a load of other apps, it adds up. Dont try and match it to the gpu perfectly.

Extra advice for more FPS per dollar: Avoid investing more in Aesthetics. (there is RGB RAM wich is affordable as no RGB RAM in DDR4 mind you).
