  1. In the bonus it's a 16-BIT ISA MOUSE PORT CARD made by Logitech to use need install a driver and the network card have some value to use with this vintages PCs as well.

  2. trying again youtube deleting my comments, the reason why it said security risk was because the download was under h–p and main site was h–s
    – = t

Why my comments are deleted by Youtube again, its only simple text…Nothing in them that not allowed on youtube comments.

AFAIK not all PS2 mouse will work on that PS2 to serial adapter. (Must be at least a ball mouse I suggest)
For one of my tech transition boards i wired the PS2 header on board with a serial male attached to the back of the case where I can connect a PS2 mouse by such an adapter. (missing a dedicates PS2 slot connector)
The Logitech adapter is just an wire exchanger)

    Hi Richard🤗🤗
I have one liter machine oil for your fan at home. Do you want a little bit ??? Wow what a noise🤣 .
At the "theretroweb " page there are the bios files for the motherboard. These can you download and update the eprom chip. No exe file virus.

the zip that wont download is just because windows is doing stupid …. workaround download with linuxthen unzip and put on a thumb drive or usb stick there is no virus but the smart screen is just flagging it

As I can recall you need a compatible mouse to use those adapters. The electronics to handle the conversion are built into the mouse. The adapter itself is passive. I can't remember what happens when you don't have a compatible mouse. I think it just doesn't work? This is all going pretty far back into the memory banks.

    Hi,

the bleeping motherboard is the Edom Wintech W6LXB with the Intel 440 LX chipset.

It supports Pentium 2 and Celeron Slot 1 Cpu up to 333 Mhz or with Socket 370 adapter

up to 533 Mhz Celeron with Mendocino core. The FSB is 66 Mhz for all Cpu.

You can find more info on the Retroweb.
There are also some Bios versions and the manual.

But be careful, there exist 1M and 2M bios versions for this board.
You must look at your chip under the Award sticker which chip you have.

Be sure to pick the right Bios version!

The Bios from Retroweb all have the 32 GB harddisk bug, you cant use larger hard disks.

I also found the Bios on Rainbows website and this is the later 1M version from 1999 and is not a virus.
It is tested, i download and checked it – its patched for larger hard disks.

The newer versions which are on Retroweb can also be found patched, I found them in Edwins Folder
at Rainbows host..both the latest 1M and 2M versions.

Or you may patch them yourself with biospatcher from rom.by..

    Other hints:
Please handle the board with care and not so rough, when inserting cards it really bends and can make micro cracks in the pcb – resulting in possible system malfunction also.

In this state it is normal that pci and agp video cards are not working. because of the award bootblock bios recovery procedure support only legacy isa video cards.

So this behavior is totally normal and you just need a working bios/chip.

Good luck, Im sure you get the motherboard working in the next part..

Did you ground the negative probe lead while measure the fan pulses? it looked like you just probed holding the ground clip in your hand and then you won´t read much pulses from those fans

So many times I've experienced that awful feeling when you realize something is connected backwards and suddenly nothing works at all. So far in 30 years, I don't think I've ever had the other feeling, where you find an unrelated problem… Congratulations on finding the loose battery! I would have thrown it in the bin and cried.

  11. blank

Cmos checksum error is just because you've cleared the cmos, then you have a second error whereby the board is looking for a floppy drive because its of that era, try plugging in a floppy drive so that the onboard controller can see one

  12. blank

Micro solder fractures on the CPU slot on the backside of the mb??

  13. blank

It complained that the CMOS checksum is invalid..
Not unexpected as the CMOS battery was dead, then you reset it too.

Did you try connecting a FDD to it and powering on, even with no disk in it?

  14. blank

Feels like this is becoming a challenge! 🙂 Just on the off-chance, as it's a socketed BIOS, chip creep or corrosion is a possibility so try reseating it.

  15. blank

Are you using the power/reset switch to power the board on? It sounds like it’s stuck in reset loop

  16. blank

give that fan some sewing machine oil

I think that it is a scanner controller card. I used to have something like that on my first handheld scanner

  18. blank

Hello, I still need to watch the full video but I wanted to ask if you have PCI and ISA VGA cards at hand to diagnose boards that doesn't want to POST correctly with an AGP card, I remember back in the Slot-1 days I could get a board to POST and show a BIOS error using an ISA card, if you tried with with older cards then discard this message 😅 guess the more comments the merrier right?

  19. blank

I think that logitech card with the funny connector was a scanner intrrface. I had some of those.

  20. blank

    mmx = multi media extentions

  21. blank

they wouldn't have been bios files anyway at 128gb

  22. blank

I wouldn't have given it that mch of my time, I would have just binned it
