These two computer mice had the same problem: the wire broke off in the conection point in the mouse. It is clearly visible in the video, as is the method I use for each one.
For the first one I chose to solder the wires on the pcb, and for the second one, I decided to just patch the old wires together and insulate them with electrical tape.
Pretty cheap fix, but it’ll do the job. If you have heat shrink tube or self voulcanizing tape available, you can use that for insulation.
For the entry point, where the problem was initially created, I use a piece of straw, to add some mechanical strength to it. That can also be covered by insulating tape or heatshrink tube.
The thing to remember is the colors of the wires. A snapshot with your phone is not a bad idea to help you remember.
